Description

Beautiful tour with passes and lakes in Italy and Switzerland. The path is easy to find, so it can go well forward. We indulged in the beauty of Lake Como, shortened the tour and took summer holidays by the pool overlooking the lake :) So plan enough time for a day at the lake.

Ausrüstung

11 litre backpack

Directions

We drove the tour in the following 3 stages:

Day 1: Tiefencastel - St. Moritz

Direction Filisur over the Albula Pass to St. Moritz. A little trafficked, scenically beautiful road. After we only leave Tiefencastel at noon, we stay in St. Moritz and enjoy the evening sun.

Day 2: St. Moritz - Gravedona

It starts directly with the Bernina Pass, which is the only incline today, apart from the access to the hotel, which is located further up on the steep lake shore than expected.

The glacier is clearly visible from the road and the pass is not too steep. We leave Switzerland and continue on Italian roads. We have a lunch break in Tirano and remember that years ago we were here with our bikes, after we had driven the Stelvio Pass, on our way to Lake Iseo. Today we turn right, along the Adda to Lake Como.

Day 3: Day at the lake

sun. Summer. Pool with lake view.

Day 4: Gravedona - Tiefencastel

The Maloja Pass. It goes uphill for quite a while through pretty Chiavenna and further uphill. When I think it's time to arrive, a wall opens up in front of me with a winding street. The Maloja Pass. In the end it is half as wild, at the top there is again Swiss drinking chocolate and it goes along the lakes until we turn left onto the Julier Pass. The descent back to Tiefencastel is long and a lot of fun.
