Description

From Lumbrein, you first go up the (mostly) snow-cleared road in the direction of Punt Val Mulin. Above the last stables, the snow-covered winter hiking trail begins, which leads to the impressive wooden bridge of the Val Mulin. After crossing the bridge, a hiking trail continues towards Val Miedra. The path leads across open meadows and for the most part through the snow-covered forest. Above Vrin, the winter hiking trail joins the main road. The last 500 meters follow the main road to the village of Vrin.

Geheimtipp

You can also hike only as far as Nussaus (about half the distance) and from there continue your journey by post bus (free of charge in winter).

Sicherheitshinweis

In case of uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are common. If a bad weather front or similar comes up during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Ausrüstung

Catering with a hot drink, high and sturdy hiking boots or winter boots, warm clothing, sun protection, hiking poles are an advantage.

Postbus line 90.441 Ilanz - Vrin, stop Lumbrein

During the winter season, the Postbus can be used free of charge by everyone on the Ilanz – Vrin line and on the other lines throughout the municipality of Lumnezia.

Anreise Information

Via Chur A3/A13 via Flims to Ilanz in the Val Lumnezia.

Parking

Limited parking in Lumbrein. We generally recommend travelling by public transport.

Museum Surselva

Casa d'Angel, Lumbrein

The Casa d'Angel has been the cultural center of the municipality of Lumnezia since 2015. In collaboration with the Fundaziun Capauliana and changing curators, a new exhibition is held every year and one of the two giant crystals of the Péz Regina is on display on the first floor.

Bergkristallgruppe «Sonne des Péz Regina», Lumbrein

The famous crystals of the Péz Regina are among the largest groups found in the Alps to date. The group "Sun of Péz Regina" weighs 950 kg and is exhibited at the Casa d'Angel in Lumbrein .

Bridge Surselva

Punt Val Mulin, Lumbrein

The wooden bridge Val da Mulin is made of wood, which all comes from municipal forests. With it, a gap in the hiking network from Lumbrein in the direction of Vrin could be closed. The bridge is a good 52 meters long and 22 meters high.
