Description

From Maloja, the trail descends about 300 m to the village of Casaccia. From Casaccia the route continues flat, sometimes with a strong headwind, but with all the more beautiful views of the imposing Albigna dam to Vicosoprano. In Vicosoprano, we recommend a ride through the historic village before continuing on to Stampa. From Stampa, the home of the famous Giacometti family of artists, you pass the red stone palace, Palazzo Castelmur, on the right and continue under two kissing stones to the next historic village, Promontogno. From Promontogno, the road climbs in a few but mostly very sunny bends for just under 200 m before reaching the destination of Soglio – Threshold of Paradise. From Soglio you return via the same road, this time with a total of just over 800 metres of ascent to the starting point in Maloja.

Geheimtipp

In Vicosoprano, Promontogno and Soglio there are shopping facilities, and in Soglio it is worth stopping off for lunch or coffee and cake on one of the three sun terraces.

Sicherheitshinweis

In the summer peak season, due to the high volume of traffic and the narrow bends between Casaccia and Maloja, the route is only recommended in the early mornings and evenings.
