Details
Description
The Parc Ela Trek leads, mostly at 2000 m above sea level and higher, through the alpine mountain landscape of Parc Ela. Start and destination, Tiefencastel and Lenzerheide, are easily accessible by public transport. On 17 challenging stages, over 222 kilometres and 15,000 metres in altitude, 20 passes are crossed and 25 Alps are crossed. Trekking along untouched streams to the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland, over species-rich mountain meadows and moorlands, through sparse alpine forests and dwarf shrub heaths and further up, to the alpine lawn and pioneer communities, where rock and ice dominate, where the rare alpine flowers are still visited by butterflies and co. at the highest altitudes, and the large ice streams have modelled an archaic landscape. On the way you can experience the Rhaeto-Romanic, Walser German and Italian language culture. In the stage towns, the Parc Ela-Trekkis enjoy regional specialties.
