Description

The starting point for the challenging variant (difficulties ZS+) is the mountain station Pischa, where the ascent towards Pischahorn is tackled. This first ascent is relatively short and without difficulty. So the first great descent attracts early in the day. The wide slopes down into the Vereina Valley offer wonderful variants. A good 1,200 meters of altitude difference can be destroyed so easily and enjoyably!

The re-ascent on the opposite side of the valley towards roggenhorn is very varied. Due to the strong sunlight, however, the ascent can be quite sweaty and drive the pulse upwards. The Roggenhorn is located in the middle of the Silvretta and accordingly offers a beautiful view of the mountain range of the central Eastern Alps. After the enjoyable summit rest, the second, even longer descent into the Verstancla Valley awaits. Pure enjoyment!

The last part of the tour leads from the Verstancla valley relatively flat to Monbiel, where with the Alp Novai and the Alp Garfiun two deserved refreshment stops await.

Geheimtipp

Since the ascent to the Roggenhorn is exposed to sunshine relatively early, it is recommended not to start the tour too late.

Sicherheitshinweis

Anyone who goes off the slopes acts exclusively on their own responsibility and is outside the liability area of the mountain railways. The freeride slopes marked in yellow are secured but not groomed and not controlled. They can only be driven on when the vehicle is open. We recommend that you check the open slopes, the SLF avalanche bulletin and the weather forecast. Any liability is excluded.

This freeride route is to be understood as a general direction. Depending on the conditions, departure routes must be assessed and adapted themselves. No guarantee can be given for the correctness, completeness and timeliness of the information.

The practice of freeride in open terrain is at your own risk. Every freerider and tourer is strongly advised to thoroughly prepare, plan routes and obtain up-to-date information on the snow and avalanche situation. Avalanche situation report and snow info: www.slf.ch

For accidents resulting from the use of the published information and the route information, any liability is rejected.

In case of doubt, the accompaniment of experienced mountain guides is strictly recommended: www.bergfuehrer-davosklosters.ch

Ausrüstung

We recommend the avalanche training center before departure.

On the Jakobshorn near the Fuxägufer mountain station in Davos, the correct use of the avalanche transceiver (avalanche transceiver) can be practiced under realistic conditions. The training ground consists of a zone of 100 x 100 m in moderately steep terrain and thus represents a realistic avalanche cone. The use of the training ground is free of charge. Your own avalanche transceiver and avalanche probe must be taken along.
