Piz Dadens
Show all 4 images
It is not a Sunday walk, the Piz Dadens from Brigels. But it is definitely a great ski tour in alpine surroundings. You can start walking from your hotel bed, or from somewhere in the mountain village of Brigels. In spring, you should be on the road early. Many slopes have the southern exposure.

Description
At the Sogn Giacun chapel you can put on your skins and start your tour. The beginning is leisurely. On the alpine road, you start through the forest, later across alpine meadows to Alp Tschegn Dadens Sut. Now the slopes become steeper in parts and you can gain altitude well. Above the tree line, in Val Miez, the scenery becomes even more magnificent. The rock formations on Piz Dadens and Piz Dado are getting closer and the panorama in the south extends further and further with every step.
From an altitude of about 2500 m above sea level, turn left, heading west and climb over the increasingly steep hollow, later in a northerly exposure to the ski depot just below the summit. Mostly on foot, we now go up to the summit. The small summit peak is usually not climbed in winter. It is quite exposed and delicate to commit.
The descent is on the ascent route back to Brigels. This tour should only be undertaken in safe conditions. Especially the slopes near the summit are very steep and there is a risk of falling in some places. However, in safe conditions and with appropriate technical ability, Piz Dadens is a great ski tour.
Geheimtipp
Be sure to start early in spring. At this time of year, the skis may have to be worn a bit at the beginning and end of the tour.
Sicherheitshinweis
Ski and snowshoe tours in unsecured terrain require good knowledge of avalanche danger assessment and tour planning. Furthermore, a complete safety upgrade must always be carried - regardless of the current avalanche danger.
We recommend the APP and website of WhiteRisk for preparation and planning of the tour.
For carefree enjoyment, we recommend our Surselva mountain guides.
