The Ruinaulta natural monument is also known as the "Swiss Grand Canyon". It deserves this title and rightly so, because the up to 300-metre-high walls of landslide breccia give the approximately 11,000-year-old gorge in the deposition area of the Flims landslide an imposing appearance. There are several ways to discover this beautiful landscape.
From Ilanz it goes on the well-developed romantic hiking trail next to the Vorderrhein to Castrisch, through a floodplain of national importance and along the Rhine to the heart of the gorge to Versam Station.
