Disla
At the heart of this stage is Disentis with its Benedictine monastery. The legend about the chapel near Disla is also interesting. The riverside path along the Young Rhine leads to Sumvitg. We recommend taking a detour up to Bostg at the start.

Description

  • We hike along the railway line on comfortable and wide hiking trails to Disentis. On the way we marvel at the impressive viaduct of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway in Bugnei or the typical Valser houses in Segnas. The centre of the stage is Disentis with its Benedictine monastery. The church and museum are open daily.

Continue on to the hamlet of Disla, a small artisan village. The chapel is striking and unique because of its octagonal shape and is one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in Switzerland. On the riverside path along the young Rhine we hike sometimes over pastures and meadows or through shady forests until we reach Sumvitg.
