Ardez
The route starts in the cobbled streets of Ardez between attractively decorated Engadine houses. You then go uphill into Val Tasna and up to Alp Laret at an altitude of 2,205 metres. Rare alpine flowers thrive on steep rocky hillsides, and the view extends far across the Lower Engadine with its huge mountain ranges.

Description

From Ardez staziun (train station) the path leads directly above the village in direction of Plan Chamuera into Val Tasna. Passing the Alp Tasna, which is located at the top of the slope and can be identified as a typical alpine hut, the path continues through the varied landscape far into the Val Tasna. At the goat alp Alp Valmala you have reached the turning point in Val Tasna and change to the other side of the stream. At Alp Valmala you can buy goat cheese and drinks during the summering season. After crossing the Tasnan, the path climbs a bit steeper until you reach again above the forest line of the valley flank further out of the valley. Directly after the valley exit, the Alp Laret is situated on a panoramic hill. During the summering season, this alp offers a restaurant and invites you to take a break with a great view. After an easy ascent, the path leads more or less along the contour line to today's stage destination - the mountain station of the chairlift Ftan-Prui. From there, you can either take the hiking trail or the chairlift, which is a little easier on the knees, directly down to Ftan. In Ftan there are various possibilities for refreshments. There are regular post buses between Ftan and Scuol. If you want to make a detour to Scuol, you can either take the post bus or walk for about 45 minutes along the Flurinaweg from the top station of the chair lift to the top station of the Motta Naluns gondola lift.
