Description

The first 16 km of the route follow those of the "Strada Alta" circuit. In fact, from the San Remo Sports Centre, you will go up to Pass di Passit, then back down towards Confin Basso before reaching the top of the San Bernardino Pass. From here we continue towards Pian Lumbrif (1853 m) past the characteristic mountain lakes, the "Laghitt d'Ardei", before going uphill again towards Cassina de Vignun . The hut is used in the summer months by shepherds who take care of the livestock. The path is smooth and without any particular technical difficulties. Then continue towards Alpe Pian Doss on the path that winds through the Valley of Silence. Before the last climb, which leads to the forest swamp in the Fornas area, it goes along Lake Doss, which in summer is a popular destination for those seeking relaxation and wants to dive into the water of the bathing lake. The last kilometres of the route wind along the shores of Lake Isola, passing by Alpe Portela, where you can buy various dairy products in summer.

Geheimtipp

If you want to shorten the route, it is easy to overlook the ascent to Cassina de Vignun. Just go straight ahead for a few hundred meters to Pian Lumbrif and you will return to the planned route.
