Description

If you like bumpy descents, this is the tour for you. It is a challenge and is aimed at bike experts. The journey begins with the PostBus (reservation) or ROMEX bike shuttle (reservation) to the Umbrail Pass, where the trail leads towards Piz Umbrail with a long and strenuous carrying passage. The ascent is followed by the first singletrail descent, technically moderately difficult and partly blocked. Continuing in the direction of Val Vau, you cross the stream and, after short sections of forest road, reach the crowning finale: the ‘Hom dal Chapé’. After the start at the wooden sculpture, the trail leads 1.5 kilometres through dense forest over rooty and rocky sections to Valchava.

Priority is regulated and depends on the days on which the Val Vau hiking bus and PostBus operate: priority for hikers on Wed, Thu and Sat! Coexistence applies on the remaining days.

Geheimtipp

This tour requires a high degree of riding safety, balance and technical ability as well as a head for heights.Book the PostBus to the Umbrail Pass in advance or take the Romex bike shuttle to the starting point at the top of the pass.

Sicherheitshinweis

Graubünden's extensive network of trails is open to hikers and bikers in almost equal measure - provided they treat each other with tolerance.

We have a word for it: Fairtrail.

Sometimes you'd rather be alone in the world. Or at least on the hiking trail. But you're not. That's why you have to come to terms with others. It's not that difficult, and nobody is actually against a smile and a smile back. So:

Travelling on wheels ...

make yourself known early with the bell.always give way to the hikers.pass at walking pace or dismount briefly. If you are travelling on foot ...

you know that you naturally have the right of way.move to the side if there is enough space.do not obstruct cyclists unnecessarily.
