Breil-Brigels and Andiast are among the sunniest villages in the Surselva. This gravel tour leads through impressive mountain scenery and pretty villages. The solitude in Val Ladral and the beautifully situated reservoir above Panix make up for every bead of sweat.

Description

The first part of the tour from Brigels to the natural paradise of Ladral is characterized by constant ups and downs. After Andiast, the brake disks reach operating temperature before it's the legs' turn again on the ascent to the reservoir. After a well-earned break at Lake Panixersee, you'll be whizzing comfortably down to the village of the same name - or Pigniu, as it's known in Romansh. From there, the final ascent leads back up to Brigels.

Geheimtipp

At the “Lag da Pigniu” reservoir, you should definitely take the time to follow the gravel road to the end of the valley. The imposing, steep rock faces and the majestic waterfall will once again make you feel the power of nature.

The tour is planned so that the ascents are on gravel and the descents on firm ground. Of course, the tour can also be ridden in the opposite direction. Another starting point is also possible, for example Rueun.

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are frequent in the mountains. If a rain front or similar is approaching during the hike, you should turn back in good time.

Lake Surselva

Lag da Pigniu / Panixersee

The lake is located two kilometers from the village of Pigniu. It is about 1.5 kilometers long and about 250 meters wide. It is fed by a few nameless mountain streams. An easy-to-walk hiking or walking path leads around the lake. It takes about an hour to circumnavigate it. On the west side, several large waterfalls plunge into the valley in the rear part.
