As a special challenge lures the historic via ferrata Pinut, which also allows inexperienced but sure-footed and vertigo-free climbers the climb to the Flimserstein plateau. Thrill without risk, and a fantastic view of the mountains of Flims.

Description

A fascinating nature experience - but not for the faint-hearted: this is the Pinut via ferrata. First mentioned in writing in 1793, it is the oldest via ferrata still in existence in the whole of Switzerland. It was completely renovated in 2007 and since then has offered guests and locals alike a climbing experience of superlatives. So: pack your via ferrata set, climbing harness, helmet, rucksack, weatherproof jacket, sturdy mountain boots, snacks, drinks, sunglasses and first-aid kit and off you go!

Difficulty

K 1-2, not very difficult, comfortably secured with steps and 27 ladders, but very airy in the lowest part.

Approach

A blue sign in Fidaz points the way to the via ferrata. A path through the forest leads up to the foot of the rock (approx. 30 minutes).

Exit

Descent via an old alpine path. In Bargis you meet the road coming up from Fidaz. The marked hiking trail leads away from the road back to Fidaz (approx. 2 hours).

Geheimtipp

Take some coins with you, upstairs you can eat in a self-catering hut with sausage, cheese and bread, drinks. Money must be put in the cash register accordingly.

Only suitable for sure-footed, vertigo-free and mountain suitable. Not suitable for children under 12 years.

Directions

The trail leads from the Fidaz car park through the Fidaz woods to the climbing ladder at the entrance of the via ferrata, directly below the Flimserstein. The via ferrata leads to Alp Flimserstein. From there we can climb up to the summit of Cassons or down to Bargis.

Station: Fidaz Pinut By bus from Chur to Flims, and then by public Flims Laax Falera Flims Laax Falera Shuttle towards Fidaz.

Anreise Information

By car Motorway A13 from Zurich, exit 18 Flims.

Parking

Parking with 12 parking spaces at the Milky Way in Fidaz or 30 parking spaces at the edge of the forest Fidaz. Both charged.
