The church, dedicated to the martyr Laurentius, is located on the castle hill between Glenner and Valserrhein, visible from afar. The castle has disappeared. Only the keep is still standing and has served as a church tower for the church built at that time since 1515.

The Reformed Church in Nufenen is a protected monument of the canton of Graubünden. Since the introduction of the Reformation around 1530, which is illustrated by a stained glass window in the choir with a verse from a song by Martin Luther ("A strong castle is our God"), it has served as a preaching church.

The Reformed Church in Filisur was originally dedicated to Saint Martin. The church is highly medieval in terms of its building fabric. In 1489 the choir was rebuilt and the tower enlarged. The church was renovated in 1746 and restored for the last time in 1956.
