Event Disentis Sedrun
Saturday pilgrimage from Sedrun to the Oberalp Pass

Description
Route description
Our Saturday pilgrimage begins at Rueras railroad station and the descent into the village with its St. James church. Until the beginning of the 19th century, there was a brotherhood of St. James in and for Rueras. It consisted of brothers and sisters. The statutes of this "bruoderschaft" from 1609 still exist today. From Rueras, the path climbs up to the Oberalp Pass. The ascent to Alp Liets is made easier by the Uaul (forest) Liets and its shaded mountain path. At the Davet hut, we find another symbol of the Way of St. James. We leave Alp Liets behind us.
After a short descent, the path climbs another 100 m to Milez. Here the path climbs 250 m to Cuolm Val. If the view is clear in autumn, we will be able to look back on long stretches of the Graubünden Way of St. James from here. The path drops once again to the bottom of the Val Val valley, from where we can easily manage the final ascent to the top of the pass.
During the day, Reto Jäger will tell us about the many years of effort that will be successfully completed in the anniversary year 2024 with the Graubünden Way of St. James leading up to the Oberalp Pass.
