Cottage hike Flumserberg-Weisstannen

The hut hike on the Flumserberg starts at the Tannenheim, Post stop. It is located directly at the Tannenheim valley station. The first highlight is the ascent with the gondola lift to Prodalp. Slowly, the gondola rises above Lake Walen and the Churfirsten appear in all their splendor.

At the Prodalp, a forest path begins, which after a few kilometres turns into a narrow hiking trail. It leads through forests, past flower meadows and herds of cows. Soon the mountain inn Panüöl to the Spitzmeilenhütte would be reached. Alp Fursch is followed by a steep but short ascent and the last few kilometres to the Spitzmeilenhütte. It is located at an altitude of 2,087 m above sea level. M and was built more than 110 years ago. Above the clouds, you can marvel at the sunset before descending 1,200 metres in altitude to Weisstannen the next day. The path leads over the Madchopf via Galans with a view of the Churfirsten and Alvier chains. From Weisstannen the bus goes back to Sargans train station.

An insider tip is the Madseeli. The small mountain jewel is located 10 minutes from the Spitzmeilenhütte.
