Description

At the Maran practice area, a short but steep descent towards Schafwald awaits. The trail then leads 2km flat through the Seebachtobel. This is followed by an ascent of about 2km. Shortly after the 4 km marking, there is the Prätschalp / Ochsenalp junction. The Ochsenalp trail is a 6 km long round trip.  Back at the junction, the Prätschalp trail goes off to the right. The highest point is reached on the upper part of the Sonnenloipe at almost 1970 metres. Here, cross-country skiers can enjoy a view over the Schanfigg valley with its rustic Walser houses. So it's worth taking a break. This is followed by a short descent. Then follow the trail to the entrance to the lower part of the Sonnenloipe. After this round, the route continues to the Unterer Prätschsee. At the lake there is a short and very steep climb. After that, it is less than two kilometers to the driving range of the Golf Club. Once there, walk the signposted training and night trail.
