Description

It is not easy to find the entrance and the right route to the summit.  Once at the top, you can enjoy an excellent view of all the mountains in the area from Piz Casnil.

From the Albigna Hut, follow the route to the Pass da Casnil Sud until just before the top of the pass. Here you leave the path and traverse in the direction of the northern pass crossing. Alternatively, the Pass da Casnil Nord can also be reached with a little scrambling directly over the connecting ridge (following the cairns).

From the Pass da Casnil Nord you either continue directly to the south ridge and climb here in flat rock (II-III) to the Casnil summit.

Or you can keep to the west and climb the summit via the southwestern spur. Here the entrance is not easy to find: from the Pass da Casnil Nord keep a little to the left and walk towards the gully at the large slabs - then you will soon come across numerous cairns that mark the way up (I-II).  The descent is along the same route.

Geheimtipp

For those who do not know the area to be accompanied by a mountain guide

Overnight stay in the Hut

Sicherheitshinweis

Difficulty: WB / The ascent is made first through a gully with loosened rock, after which the most strenuous part follows. One climbs on a crooked track between boulders and slabs (difficulty level II); numerous cairns. A rope may be useful. Marking blue-white until the pass, in the last stretch not present, but numerous cairns show the way.

Ausrüstung

Mountain boots, sticks, eventually a rope
