Details
Description
The start of the tour is signposted from Sand near Giraniga or directly from Giraniga.
At the beginning, the route leads along meadow slopes and crosses to the village of Pilavarda. Now a few steeper slopes have to be mastered. However, these are rather short and easy to manage for most people. It is more idyllic just before Huot. The hilly landscape up to the magnificent viewpoint is pure pleasure. With a bit of luck you can observe chamois here. Please keep quiet so as not to frighten the animals too much. At Huot, an extensive rest is almost mandatory. Because here the panorama extends from Oberalpstock, over the Brigelserhörner to the Ringelspitz or the Calanda.
The first few meters of the way back are over a nice shoulder before you go straight down. It's a shot and a lot of fun. Once you arrive at the winter hiking trail, the signs point either back to the sand or to Giraniga.
Geheimtipp
The tour is described in a counterclockwise direction, but can be walked in both directions.
Sicherheitshinweis
This snowshoe tour is marked off-road with pink posts, but is not groomed. There are no steeper slopes that are prone to avalanches. However, if there is a high risk of avalanches, tours in unsecured terrain must be avoided as a matter of principle.

For carefree enjoyment on longer tours, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe hiking guides of the Surselva.
