The early bird experiences a fantastic sunrise!

Description
The first thing we do is find out when we can expect to see the sunrise on Piz Calmut. In the middle of July, that's about 6 o'clock.
Since the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn is still sleeping, we set off by car to the Oberalp Pass. Everything is still calm and quiet and we hike on a driveway towards Pass Tiarms. After a few more hairpin bends we reach the summit cross and there is still some time left for a hot coffee, which we pour from our thermos bottle. Wrapped up in our down jackets, because it is still quite fresh, we watch how the light and the colors of the sky change. We look to the west, where the mountain range of Damma - and Galenstock turns red. And to the east, where the haze lays light veils over the valley. Then the time has come: the first rays of sunlight cross the horizon! Simply wonderful.
We make the descent via the soapstone quarry on the south side of Piz Calmot.
Geheimtipp
Pack warmly, it is usually very fresh and windy.
Directions
Behind the new gondola station we find a signpost from where the trail leads to the road to the Pass Tiarms. On the Tiarm hill, the road branches off to the right and ends at the summit of Piz Calmut. The way back is from the chairlift station on a hiking trail in a southerly direction to the soapstone quarry. From here we follow the road to the Oberalp Pass
