Description

Stage 1: Ilanz - Siat

The three beautifully situated villages of Ruschein, Ladir and Siat are located on the south side of the Surselva between 1200 and 1300 meters above sea level. So you can expect a lot of sun on an easy hiking trail.

Stage 2: Siat - Andiast

After the Siater Alp, descend steeply through the forest to the depiction of St. James in the church of St. Valentin in Pigniu/Panix. Suvorov's army once plundered here.

Stage 3: Andiast - Ilanz

From Andiast to Rueun, a comfortable dirt road leads through pastures and forests to the valley floor. Between Rueun and Ilanz, the route is mostly flat on gravel roads and hiking trails past the historic Schnaus workshop of the Giger brothers. The water wheel can be visited freely.

Stage 4: Ilanz - Cumbel

From Ilanz you will pass the St. Martin church of Ilanz and continue to Luven. In Luven it is worth stopping by the Panera fire pit. At 48 metres, the Panera was the largest spruce in Switzerland.

Stage 5: Cumbel - Pitasch

True to the motto about hill and dale, this stage leads short sections over tarred sections until it leads you to an original to almost untouched nature. Idyllic mountain villages such as Duvin and Pitasch transported you back to a bygone era.

Stage 6: Pitasch - Riein

Wildness and authenticity, you won't find many people here. From Pitasch, mainly dirt roads and hiking trails lead further and further up and you look out over lush green meadows.

Stage 7: Riein - Ilanz

Unpaved roads lead over a landscape of mountain pastures, a fountain to linger and the imposing Signina chain rises up in the back. Up to Crap da Sevgein, the path runs in a straight line. Then it leads to the left becoming steeper and steeper to Sevgein.
