Description

Stage 1: Ilanz - Siat

The three beautifully situated villages of Ruschein, Ladir and Siat are located on the south side of the Surselva between 1200 and 1300 meters above sea level. So you can expect plenty of sunshine on an easy hiking trail.

Stage 2: Siat - Andiast

After the Siater Alp, descend steeply through the forest to the depiction of St. James in the church of St. Valentin in Pigniu/Panix. Suvorov's army once plundered here.

Stage 3: Andiast - Ilanz

From Andiast to Rueun, a comfortable dirt road leads through pastures and forests to the valley floor. Between Rueun and Ilanz, the route is mostly flat on gravel roads and hiking trails past the historic Schnaus workshop of the Giger brothers. The waterwheel can be visited free of charge.

Stage 4: Ilanz - Cumbel

From Ilanz, you pass the church of St. Martin in Ilanz and continue to Luven. In Luven, it is worth stopping by the Panera fireplace. At 48 meters, the Panera was the largest spruce in Switzerland.

Stage 5: Cumbel - Pitasch

True to the motto over hill and dale, this stage takes you over short sections of tarmac until it leads you to pristine and almost untouched nature. Idyllic mountain villages such as Duvin and Pitasch take you back to a bygone era.

Stage 6: Pitasch - Riein

Wildness and authenticity - you won't meet many people here. From Pitasch, mainly natural roads and hiking trails lead further and further up and you can look out over lush green meadows.

Stage 7: Riein - Ilanz

Natural roads lead across a landscape of meadows, a fountain to linger and the imposing Signina mountain range towering behind you. Up to Crap da Sevgein, the path is straightforward. It then turns left and climbs ever steeper to Sevgein.

Geheimtipp

We recommend hiking individual days or two stages in a row. Overnight accommodation is not available at every stage location.

Sicherheitshinweis

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are frequent in the mountains. If a rain front or similar is approaching during the hike, you should turn back in good time.
